Tallinn, Estonia - June 25, 2007 - ZTE Corporation, a leading global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, today announced that PGH, a holding company integrating resources of virtual mobile company Bravocom and fixed line operator ViaTel, has selected ZTE to deploy a commercial nationwide UMTS/HSDPA network.

PGH is pursuing a plan to launch its next-generation network services by Q3, 2007 when it will be the first in Estonia to offer converged fixed/mobile broadband services.

The Estonian operator awarded ZTE the sole vendor contract following discussions and a series of case studies and tests which confirmed ZTE's ability to offer a solution that was superior to competing offerings.

"When evaluating network solutions, we found that ZTE's hybrid networking solution and high-quality UMTS solution outperformed competing solutions, providing us with a low CAPEX, OPEX, high efficiency and speed, and a high end data solution as well," said Mr. Jaak Lippmaa, GM of PGH, "We are looking forward to working with ZTE, as the sole vendor responsible for the network's construction."

The nationwide network will provide subscribers with a variety of high-speed mobile and fixed data services like HSDPA-based services. Given its ability to ensure extremely rapid download speeds, the HSDPA standard is best suited to support advanced video and music download applications. In the first stage, the network will cover five major cities including Tallinn (Capital city), Tartu, Johvi, Narva and Parnu.

"As the industry trends towards increased development and usage of UMTS networks, operators are searching for low cost, highly efficient solutions in order to construct a profitable network," said Mr. Fang Hui, GM of ZTE UMTS products.  "ZTE's UMTS solution and 2G/3G hybrid networking solution features a power amplifier with efficiency up to 30 percent - double that of the traditional base stations. This makes it an ideal choice for GSM operators to upgrade their legacy networks while driving down the operating expenses."

"ZTE's involvement with UMTS technology dates back to 1998 when 4000 R&D elites were engaged in this 3G standard. The network, based upon ZTE's V3 3G common hardware system, is capable of realizing the mutual sharing of UMTS/TD-SCDMA/GSM/CDMA2000," added Mr. Fang.

In 2006, ZTE was the world first in shipping commercial CDMA2000 systems. In 2007, ZTE won nearly 50 percent market share of the China Mobile's TD-SCDMA project.

To date, ZTE UMTS products have been deployed in more than 20 countries around the world.
